CNN: “Ex-U.S. Attorney General to Join Saddam Defense”

by Sam Glover on November 27, 2005

In an intriguing twist, ex-U.S. Attorney General Ramsey Clark will join Saddam Hussein’s defense team. Clark was the U.S. Attorney General during president Lyndon Johnson’s administration. He will participate in the courtroom if possible, but will at least serve as an advisor to Hussein’s current defense lawyers. Said Clark:

“Our plan is to go to court in Baghdad on Monday morning representing the defense counsel as defense support. A fair trial in this case is absolutely imperative for historical truth to justice obviously.”
