Uptown Pizza refuses to honor its good coupons

Sports Lovers Special coupon from Uptown Pizza

My wife and I tried to order two pizzas from Uptown Pizza this evening, intending to use the buy-one-get-one-free “Sports Lovers Special” coupon that was attached to the pizza we ordered a couple of weeks back. The coupon has no expiration date.

Neither the employee on the phone nor the manager would honor the coupon, claiming they had no such special, even though my wife held the coupon in her hand, and the proof is right above! She asked them to honor the coupon, since it was clearly theirs, but they refused. So she threatened to post about it on the Internet, and they still refused. And here we are.

While I am disappointed, there are a lot of other good pizza delivery places in Minneapolis that will be getting our business from now on.

Why do people run their businesses in this manner? It gives us all a bad name. The customer is always right. They should have just honoured the coupon and sorted out their internal communication issues later

Great Stuff Sam. If more people would take the same approach as you do when companies do not do the right thing then consumers to say the least would be more informed.

It is kind of obvious that I do not mind doing it either. It would be kind of cool to have a weekly or daily blog carnival bringing these kind of complaints to light.

I do agree with Simon they were being penny wise and pound foolish by not accepting the coupon.
