Opened up a can of worms over at the Consumerist
Well, it was my last day, and I thought the Consumerist could use a good argument. So I gave them one. Tort reform is a tough one, and that thread on Consumerist made me realize that non-medical malpractice doctors are in danger of getting caught up in a maelstrom of ill will towards med-mal cases. We all may get swept under a damages cap, expert panel review rule, or a similar rule. This would be an awful situation for consumers across the board.
