Boycott the RIAA in March
Gizmodo is leading the charge to boycott the RIAA during the month of March. Do it. Don’t buy albums from RIAA artists. See them live, if you must. Even better, spend March discovering local and independent artists. Buy music from independent artists. Download Creative Commons-licensed music and tracks in the public domain.
This is NOT a call to piracy. This is a call to exercise your market influence. Send the RIAA a message that when they go too far, we, the consumers, will find our music elsewhere.

You might also want to use RIAA Radar. I’ve found it to be a great tool for locating “like” music and permanently abandoning RIAA associated label. Often there’s a choice between both.
